We'll post here as relevant items to United States exporting are announced.  We get daily email from the BIS at Commerce, including policy announcements, public comment requests, rulings and interpretations within the jurisdiction of the federal agencies overseeing U.S. trade, and links to enforcement matters including denial orders, special designations, and training course schedules.

August 11, 2009 - BIS publishes Proposed Rule on Revisions to the CCL To Update and Clarify Crime Control License Requirements. Comments must be received no later than September 25, 2009.

March 5, 2009 - BIS has posted a Classification Information Table comprised of information received from companies that have requested the Commodity Classification information available on their companies' websites, and/or their companies'export control points of contact, be accessible via the BIS website.  http://www.bis.doc.gov/commodityclassificationpage.htm

February 10, 2009 - An advisory opinion notice on Transfer of Export Licenses has been posted on the BIS website , and includes official policy on making such transers.  http://www.bis.doc.gov/policiesandregulations/advisoryopinions.htm

 February 6, 2009- BIS reached a settlement with a Taiwan based firm with U.S. operations on violation of U.S. export regulations.  Precursors and materials usable for nuclear development were involved.  A stiff 20 year denial of export privileges was part of the settlement.  Details at http://www.bis.doc.gov/news/2009/bis_press02062009.htm
